Is there a lot walking involved?
We could be considered a walking tour. European city centers are mostly car free which create wonderful pedestrian zones where you can see the sights. We use the rail system to move from one city to the next and occasionally use the metro systems once were in the city to get around, but we will walk through most the cities. This really is the best way to really experience a city.
Is the flight included in the price?
No, the flight is not included in the price of the tour. There has been a real shift in the industry with most tour providers not offering flights because most people can find a better deal than what is offered through the tour provider. The majority of people now days have some form of airline miles from a credit card or other reward program. The use of the internet to find deals on flights has also given people more options by way of flights. We do however gladly help search for the best flight for you free of charge. After so many years you learn a few tricks at finding the best flight and we are more than happy to help you!
Do I need to dress up for dinners?
No, this is not required. But if it something you enjoy doing please feel free to do so. At the end of each day we will give you some time to freshen up in your rooms before having a delicious dinner. You would have time to change into nicer clothes if you wished, but once again it is not required.
How much luggage can I bring?
It is often times easy to spot the difference between first time travelers and the well seasoned travelers, clearly it is the amount of luggage they have brought. Luckily on our tours we do not transfer every other day to a new hotel, we only transfer twice. Ultimately you could bring as much as you can carry. When we transfer to a new hotel we ship your first bag by train for free to the next village we will be staying in. If you have extra bags you wish to ship there is a very low additional cost. By shipping the bags by train it frees us up to enjoy the day traveling on the trains through the Alps without the worry of our luggage.
I have heard buying water in Europe is expensive, what do you recommend?
Water is an absolute most have on the tour. Because we will be walking quite a bit on the tour it is important to stay hydrated. Buying a bottle of water in Europe can be very expensive, but luckily Switzerland has numerous fountains through every city that flows some of the cleanest and freshest water you will ever drink. Be sure to pack a water bottle and save yourself some extra money that you can put towards chocolate!
