Washington Park/ Japanese Gardens Tour

This tour begins at Pioneer Courthouse Square where we'll meet at the "Umbrella Man" statue.  After a brief group introduction we'll point out the highlights of our city's living room square.

From there we will board the Max Train headed for Washington Park where our urban hiking will begin.  We will start on the Wildwood trail that will gently decent down to our first stop the Japanese Gardens.  Along the trail we will pass by the Vietnam Memorial, gain a few glimpses into the Portland Oregon Zoo, and pass by an archary field.

Once we reach the Japanese Gardens we will have time to take in the peace and serenity of these tranquil gardens. Considered one of the most authentic Japanese Gardens in the World.

After the Japanese Gardens we will head down to the world famous International Rose Test Gardens.  You will be amazed at the variety of roses this expansive garden have!  Even when the roses are not in season this park is still very enchanting.

Our hike will now turn into more urban as we wind through Washington Park with it many statues and water features towards the city.  Our final stop will be in one of the famous shopping districts in the Nob Hill neighborhood of NW 23rd Ave.  Here we will stop at the renowned Salt & Straw Ice Cream where we'll get to taste the delicious unique flavors and get a scoop of ice cream!

We will take those who are ready back to Pioneer Courthouse Square where it all began or for those who would like to shop on NW 23rd we will give you your tri-met day pass which is included with this tour.
